This week, the U.S. is reportedly considering imposing a no-fly zone over the country to prevent Syria from getting nuclear weapons.
According to the New York Times, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary James Mattis and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly have been discussing the possibility.
According the Times, “Tillerson said the United States is considering deploying no-Fly Zones in Syria to protect the country from a nuclear-armed adversary, while Kelly said he has discussed the idea with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.
The plan has not been fully discussed, but the possibility of a no fly zone is not new,” the Times reports.
